Since 2016

A life given to tea

In 2016 Roman, then a banker from Moscow, believed in a table that did not yet exist: a slab of petrified wood that the masters of Indonesia had refused to carve. It became the first Dragon Tea Table, and the beginning of ARTEAFACT.

Since then we have lived on Bali, where every day begins with a ceremony. For more than ten years we have studied the Way of Tea with masters in China, Taiwan and Japan.

We were not born into this tradition. We chose it, and we keep studying it. What we learn becomes a table, a bowl, a Tea House.

Today ARTEAFACT is an international house of fine tea culture: objects, spaces and practice, for life and for business.

5 Tea Houses · 100+ table owners · 1,000+ clients and students in 12+ countries · 3,000+ ceremonies

Two traditions

Where Chinese tea culture meets Japanese aesthetics

From China · the content

Tea, gongfu cha, teaware, jade. The old arts: the I Ching, feng shui, qigong.

From Japan · the form

The tea house. Tatami, light through paper, the scroll on the wall. Wabi-sabi and ma, the meaningful emptiness.
